Campanili

Statuario Furrer

Quantas' two splendid first class lounges in Sydney and Melbourne. Experts in the industry have often claimed they are the best in the world, thanks to their luxurious décor and the services provided for lucky passengers passing through. Clever lead designer Marc Newson designed both these style gems together with his associated architect Sébastien Segers from France.

The materials that Furrer used for the realisation of the projecy are Carrara Campanili white marble and Statuary Vein marble, two precious Italian limestones extracted from Furrer's own marble quarries in Tuscany.

Marc Newson designed all the furniture and fittings for the lounges from scratch, commissioning their realisation from leading international craftsmen. Even the music was created specially to complete the atmosphere and complement the various different areas of the lounges. Huge walls of American oak separate the seating areas into defined spaces. A vertical garden designed by botanist Patrick Blanc provides a striking backdrop and divides the Spa's luxurious suites with their marble showers and exclusively sybaritic furniture, which includes leather loungers, armchairs and sofas by Poltrona Frau, chairs and tables by Cappellini, and splendid customised items in imposing Furrer marble.
