A rare and special version of light travertine that is cut across the grain, the material exhibits very tight finely woven parallel veining. Alabastrino is an essentially white travertine with very clear veining going from yellow to sand with silvery shades. Alabastrino's structure is shown by its compactness and uniformity, there are no pores or furrows normally. When cut across the grain the veining, which is generally rough and wavy, stands out.
